North sea oil services group AGR is to launch a new petroleum geomechanicals service to build on its existing reservoir management arm.
The new service will be bolstered by staff from the former TRACS consultancy taken over by AGR five years ago.
The global offering will see the firm’s geoscience and petroleum engineering experts working together with clients to provide oil field enhancement advice.
“The industry is showing an increasingly strong interest in geomechanics and we believe good quality geomechanical base data is the key to optimal field management,” said the firm’s UK reservoir management boss Mike Wynn.
“Determining stress regimes, understanding the impact of reservoir depletion, evaluating seals and optimising drilling designs and completions are all important agenda items among domestic nd international operators.”
