A renewables’ cabling company is looking to strike gold with a comeback into the oil and gas subsea market.
Durham-based Tekmar Energy believes its customer service approach will allow the 25-year-old firm continue its growth by having “eggs in both baskets”.
“I think we’ve had a great success in the renewables market, we’ve very much grown the business on the back of the growth of offshore wind but it is starting to slow down a bit now, and as we want to keep the business growing we’ve got to look to expand and diversify,” James Ritchie, Tekmar’s chief executive, told Energy Voice.
Although the technological development has been more advanced in the oil and gas sector, the company will bring a fresh approach into the industry and “a lot more dynamic, fast paced” attitude, Ritchie added.
