North Sea oil firm Lundin has confirmed its latest bid to explore the fringes of the giant Johan Sverdrup field has fallen short.
The Swedish firm said the sidetrack well on the Torvastad target, on the edge of the massive 3billion barrel Sverdrup field, has not found commercial resources.
Oil discovered on the site was of ‘poor reservoir’ quality, the firm said.
Analysis of the well has been completed, with focus now switching to appraisal work on the Edvard Grieg discovery in the North Sea instead.
