Oil services firm Wood Group PSN has secured an extension to continue supporting Chevron’s operations on the Captain and Alba North Sea fields.
The firm, which extends the operations and maintenance contract for a further year, has been providing support for the facilities on the two fields since 2009.
The one-year extension will secure around 100 offshore jobs, and comes after WGPSN picked up a similar extension to provide engineering and construction on the same fields late last year.
“We have a long-term relationship with Chevron which dates back to 1993, when we were first awarded the topsides support services contract for the production facilities in the Alba, Captain and Erskine fields,” said WGPSN managing director Dave Stewart.
“Receiving this extension, on the back of an extension to our engineering and construction services contract, gives us a great platform to maintain our long term relationship with such an important international client.”
The deal includes supporting the Captain floating production unit and platform, along with the Alba North platform.
