The Buzzard North Sea field will shut down for almost a month this summer as maintenance is carried out, operator Nexen has confirmed.
The field, which feeds the Forties pipeline, will undergo 25 days of maintenance from the end of July.
Previously field partner Suncor had indicated a shutdown in May and September, along with a four week period in August, but the Chinese National Offshore Oil Corporation-owned Nexen had disputed that.
The shutdown would coincide with a 14-day shutdown of Forties planned for late July, Nexen said.
Production from the 160,000 barrels per day field, located around 100km north-east of Aberdeen, would be halted during the maintenance period.
