Engineering group Kentz has landed a £23million deal to provide an early production plant for a major new gas field in central America.
The deal will see the engineering firm’s US operation, Valerus, providing engineering and procurement for a simplified early production plant at Punto Fijo in Venezuela.
The fast-track facility, which the operator Cardon IV aims to have running by the end of the year, will provide first gas from the giant Perla field in the Gulf of Venezuela.
The $1.4billion first phase of work on the field, which is thought to contain more than 16trillion cubic feet of gas, will use the new plant to deliver around 150million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
“Valerus is proud to have been awarded this contract to again partner with Cardón IV and to have the opportunity to continue working together to provide energy infrastructure in Venezuela,” said chief executive Steve Gill.
