The impact of big data management, cloud computing and intelligent asset management on performance improvements will be investigated at an upcoming Society of Petroleum Engineers conference.
The Intelligent Energy Conference and Exhibition in Utrecht, the Netherlands, will feature presentations by the sector’s majors on how they benefitted from digital-age technologies.
BP will illustrate how the use of data-driven predictive modelling is enhancing production and reducing uncertainty through optimising wellwork planning and execution.
Maersk Oil will present how High Performance Cloud Computing (HPCC) can cost-effectively unlock reservoir potential through the development of a secure, lean and independent technology model which drives efficiencies and reliability.
And Weatherford will share how an enterprise strategy for legacy supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems can be successfully deployed across multiple assets such as plants, pipelines and producing facilities.
“The technical papers at this year’s conference illustrate the impressive progress that has been made with some outstanding examples of intelligent energy delivering exceptional production, operational and commercial results,” commented Sue Frye, senior manager events at SPE.
The three day conference, themed Aspirations and Accomplishments, will take place on April 1-3 and will feature 80 technical papers on technology, integrated operations, leadership, cyber-security and big data.
