Falklands-focused Rockhopper Exploration has announced the changes to its board of directors as it readies to submit plans for the Sea Lion field development project.
The company’s non-executive chairmen John Crowle and Chris Walton will step down at the end of the month after nearly nine years on the board.
Their posts will be covered by John Summers, former vice president of exploration at BG Group, and Keith Lough, the UK Gas and Electricity Markets Authority’s non-executive chairman, appointed earlier this year.
Following the changes, Robert Peters will become the company’s senior independent director.
“The board has the skill sets required for the next phase of the company’s growth and the committee structure is fit for the UK Corporate Governance Code,” said Pierre Jungels, Rockhopper Exploration’s chairman.
Later this year the company is due to submit its plans for the 290million barrels of oil estimate Sea Lion field, off the Falkland Islands, which it is set to develop with North Sea operator, Premier Oil.
