Inverness businesses with energy interests are invited to join a meeting of members of trade body Energy North on Thursday.
At the gathering the organisation will provide an update on the Energy North Oil & Gas Taskforce launched by Fergus Ewing MSP last year.
The taskforce aims to accelerate growth by making it easier for north businesses to provide services to the over-burdened industry in and around Aberdeen.
Energy North will also announce plans to re-establish the Energy and Engineering Skills Forum (EESF), as well as provide information on its new project with Marine Scotland and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, which will focus on opportunities in the offshore wind industry.
Ian Couper, chief executive of Energy North, said: “During the past few weeks we’ve been meeting with members throughout the north of Scotland to discuss the year ahead and address major issues affecting them.
“In Inverness we would like to focus on the many opportunities on the horizon given the strength of the city supply chain and its close links to Aberdeen.
“Businesses in and around Inverness could be tapping into oil and gas, renewables and marine markets, and we want to make sure they are fully aware of the opportunities and support available to them.”
