Leni Gas & Oil (LGO) has booked a drilling rig for the delayed Goudron Field development in Trinidad.
The company acquired the prospect on the south-eastern edge of the island in 2011 and was looking to start work on the 30-well project in the second half of 2013.
But the date was pushed back to February this year after the company had to seek additional funding for the project.
The first well, H-18E J-7, will now be spudded “on or about” April 15 and drilled to a total depth of 4,000 feet. It will target productive sandstones on both the Gros Morne and Lower Cruse Formations.
The field already produces 300barrels per day, and is expected to hold up to 30million barrels of oil.
