Bibby Offshore has started work on a multimillion-pound contract with Maersk.
The firm will provide subsea construction and inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) services to all of Maersk’s North Sea assets.
Dive support vessel Bibby Sapphire will undertake the offshore execution work, supported by an extensive project management team based onshore.
Barry Macleod, managing director UKCS of Bibby Offshore, said: “We have successfully completed contracts for Maersk Oil in the past and we are delighted to continue our working relationship.”
He said 2013 had been an extremely successful year for Bibby Offshore and the business was expanding rapidly. Engineering work for the project commenced in quarter three of 2013.
The initial work scope will see Bibby Offshore complete well tie-ins, decommissioning, support for flow line connection and disconnection, and IRM activities in support of Maersk Oil’s Gryphon and GP3 floating production storage offloading units and the Janice floating production unit.
