Energy services firm Aker Solutions has signed a contract with Patrobras’ for the provision of deepwater manifolds, worth more than $300million (£179million).
The deal covers supply of eight subsea manifolds designed for water depths of 2,500 meters, which will alternately inject water and gas to increase recovery from Brazilian pre-salt field developments.
The first unit is set for delivery in 2016 with around 70% of the contract procured and manufactured in the South American country.
“We are pleased to work with Petrobras on its important and technically challenging pre-salt developments,” said Øyvind Eriksen, executive chairman of Aker Solutions.
“Brazil is a key market for our subsea technology and one of the fastest-growing areas in the oil and gas industry.”
