Aubin Group has forged a Middle East partnership in a bid to provide pioneering technology.
The chemical engineering specialist has a formed a partnership agreement with UAE-based marine solutions provider, Marsol International.
The bi-continental pairing will provide an ‘industry first’ – total pigging solution for non-piggable pipelines.
Aubin and Marsol have already completed the first successful displacement of pipeline preservation fluid in three, 48 inch pipelines using sales oil.
The environmentally-friendly approached shaved $3million off the final bill.
The two firms now look to provide the Middle East, Far East and African markets with a complete product and engineering solution where conventional pigging is not applicable.
Raymond Stirton, well services and pipelines director, Aubin Group, said: “Aubin’s Pipelines division is achieving a strong presence in the Middle East and this partnership is the logical step which allows us to offer clients in the region an industry-first solution.”
The innovative approach was designed for older fields, not built for pigging or suffering from time decay. It’s also able to manoeuvre 90 degree bends, negating the need to strip the asset down and later reassemble the components.
Mike Young, managing director, Marsol International, added: “Marsol and Aubin have developed a relationship which is based on a technical solution rather than product supply.”
