Once again Ulstein is to the fore as Golden Energy Offshore has chosen one of the Norwegian company’s X-Bow designs for up to four supply vessels to be built in China.
The initial order is for a pair of PX121H class vessels, with options for two more.
The design has been customised with an extra deck for this client, which operates out of Alesund, Norway.
The class has an overall length of 83.4m and beam of 18m and a deadweight (dwt) of 4,000 tonnes.
The Golden Energy vessels will be equipped with the most modern solutions for DP2 (dynamic positioning), oil recovery and fire-fighting. These are medium-sized PSVs and have a cargo deck of approximately 850 sq.m and significant under-deck capacities.
In addition, the vessels will be prepared for the installation of an AHC crane with up to 67 tonnes capacity and an ROV mezzanine deck, which means the vessels can easily be configured for IMR (inspection, maintenance, repair), ROV support, trenching and light subsea construction work.
Golden Energy Offshore is based in Ă…lesund, Norway, and has a history dating back to 1929.
The company has owned and operated offshore vessels since 1974, and has a fleet of seven owned and managed PSVs and other support vessels with an average age of about three years.
