Dana Petroleum has acquired the majority interest in a Danish licence.
Dana will assume operatorship of the Danish 12/06 licence on June 1, after acquiring 40% equity from PA Resources.
Dana’s Netherlands managing director Nick Dancer said: “I am delighted we have now formally acquired our interest in this licence from PA Resources and we will work with them to ensure a smooth transfer of the operatorship. We look forward, with the partnership, to the drilling of the Lille John appraisal well towards the end of the year.”
The licence is located near pre-existing Dana licences in the Netherlands, including the F02a producing licence which contains the Hanze oil field and Pliocene shallow gas field.
The firm is also awaiting regulatory approval of its 56% equity acquisition for the German B20008-73 licence from PA Resources. If approved Dana would have the option for operatorship.
