Transocean has won a two year extension for its work in the North Sea.
It secured the extension for its Paul B Loyd Jr rig at a dayrate of $430,000 – a slight reduction from the $447,000 it previously commanded.
The win was a part of a $953million contract round-up the offshore contractor reported as part of its monthly fleet update.
Transocean also won work in Brazil, in the Black Sea offshore Romania and a one year extension in Gabon.
The firm’s planned out-of-service time increased by 485 days. A total of 354 days have been siphoned off to prepare and mobolise the Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1, GSF Development Driller II and Polar Pioneer.
