Airbus Helicopters, the offshore travel company behind the infamous EC225 copter, has launched its newest aircraft for the North Sea market.
The demo EC175 made its first official appearance in front of a UK audience at the Trump International golf course in Aberdeenshire.
Deliveries of the new copter will begin later this year, with 64 orders from the oil and gas sector and private VIPs already in place, the company said.
The firm’s senior manager for oil and gas, Mickael Melaye, explains how the involvement of industry advisory groups affected the design of the new machine, and how it differs from other models.
