Chemical technology specialist Aubin Group has appointed Katy Gifford as chief financial officer to strengthen its management team and help drive the future growth of the company.
Ms Gifford, a chartered accountant, brings more than 25 years’ senior management and international experience in the oil and gas industry to the firm.
Her previous roles at director and senior management level include positions at S4 Advisory, a specialist business consultancy working with many leading oil and gas organisations, Wood Group, Talisman Energy and Subsea 7 predecessor Stolt Offshore.
She is currently non-executive chairman of Aberdeen Foyer, a charitable organisation supporting young unemployed or homeless people in the north-east of Scotland.
Ms Gifford said: “Aubin Group has a talented and driven team who have developed an exciting portfolio of innovative technology which can be tailored to suit individual clients’ requirements.
“This is increasingly vital as construction and production costs continue to rise in many provinces, and Aubin Group’s ability to contribute to driving down costs, as well as risk, is highly appealing to the international market.’’
Aubin Group managing director Paddy Collins said: “We are delighted to have Katy on board at such a pivotal time for our growth.
“Her background in senior management and international expertise will play a significant role in helping the company to continue to develop and grow.’’
The appointment is part of growth plans for Aubin Group, which recently announced an increase in turnover of more than 35% to £6.5million for the year ending June 30, 2013. It followed a £2.25million investment by the Business Growth Fund.
A major focus for the business in the coming months will be on developing its subsea and integrity divisions, while it will also aim to expand on the level of work carried out in the Middle East by its well service and divisions.
Aubin Group was established in Ellon, in 1987 and operates in the UK, Norway, Middle East, North Africa and Brazil.
It designs, researches, develops, manufactures and supplies chemical technology for a wide range of energy industry applications.
