Aberdeenshire marine equipment specialist Motive Offshore has announced an investment of more than £400,000 in its subsea equipment in order to achieve industry standards.
The firm, which was launched in 2010 by James Gregg, Dave Acton and Bob Smit, and is headquartered in Boyndie, near Banff, is spending the cash to develop its range of DNV GL-standard multifunctional subsea baskets.
DNV-GL is a leading certification body and technical adviser to the oil and gas industry globally.
Motive Offshore’s subsea baskets underwent prototype testing under the watchful eye of DNV GL certifiers to make sure they were safe, reliable and efficient.
Operations director Dave Acton, said: “We recognise that the market requirements are changing, with more assurances required.
“Over the past few months, we have worked with DNV GL to enhance the specifications of our baskets.
“We can now provide the industry with a new generation of high-quality, subsea equipment.”
He added: “We are delighted that our designs have been approved and the fleet of baskets is now fully certified and ready to deploy to the international market on a rental or purchase basis.”
Motive Offshore employs more than 80 people at operations in Boyndie, Aberdeen and Stavanger.
