Oil & Gas UK has appointed two operator representatives to its board.
Glen Cayley, upstream director at Shell UK has become vice chairman of the industry body, representing the operator community.
He contribute eight years of expertise in global exploration with the firm, as well as additional 25 years’ experience from his previous roles at ExxonMobil.
Centrica Energy’s senior vice president for the UK and Netherlands Colette Cohen has joined the body’s executive board, bringing in 20 years of oil and gas experience spanning a number of technical and managerial roles, in the UK and overseas.
The news comes just a week after BP’s Trevor Garlick and John Pearson from AMEC were appointed co-chairmen of the organisation.
“Oil & Gas UK is privileged to have such high calibre individuals representing the operator communicty on our executive board,” said the body’s chief executive Malcolm Webb.
“The next chapter for our industry will certainly be different from the past and could well be more difficult, however, by working collaboratively across industry and governments, I believe we can work towards a sustainable future.
“Oil & Gas UK and its board of directors have a vital role to play in all of this, it is encouraging therefore to see our board further strengthened by these appointments.”
