Subsea 7 has been awarded a $50million contract in the Gulf of Mexico.
Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas awarded the bumper sum for support of its development in the KOQV and Holstein Deep fields.
Olivier Carré, Subsea 7’s senior vice president for Africa and the Gulf of Mexico, said: “This is the first deepwater project for Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas and we look forward to building and developing our partnership with them. Subsea 7’s track record in managing and executing projects of this nature, working closely with the client, was key to our success in securing this contract.”
Subsea 7’s Houston office will manage the onshore operations as its Seven Seas vessel assists with the installation of flexible pipelines and umbilicals for both fields. The installation phase of the project is expected to be carried out in the final quarter of the 2015.
