Italy-focused explorer Mediterranean Oil & Gas (MOG) has reported disappointing results from the Guendalina field as production deteriorated.
Output from the GUE 3 well on the Eni-operated (80% interest) field in the northern Adriatic Sea has decreased following a well intervention in January this year.
Following the intervention, the companies were looking to increase production from the well to 40,000 standard cubic metres per day (scmpd).
But currently the output dropped to 35,000scmpd due to a damage to the near-wellbore area of the completion and reservoir, MOG said in a statement.
Eni is investigating further remedial action to restore production from the well, including possible second intervention on the GUE 3 as well as a possible future up-dip side track of nearby GUE2, which is currently suspended, MOG added.
The company had already suffered a blow from a previous GUE 3 shutdown in August last year, which it said cost 2million euros in losses.
Earlier this year MOG has reported a 42% decrease in production and close to 50% cut in revenues in 2013 compared to the previous year.
