Money matters relating to the North Sea oil and gas industry have been one of the key issues debated by economists and politicians during Thursday’s Scottish Independence debate, organised by the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC).
The Stick or Twist debate gathered under one roof Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander; Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth John Swinney; Christine O’Neill, chairman of Brodies LLP; and David Bell, Professor of Economics at the University of Sterling, together with around 200 delegates representing various Scottish businesses, to discuss how the Yes vote on September 18 would affect the country’s economic future.
