Consistency and collaboration will be key to UK retaining its place at the forefront of oil and gas technology, believes the leader of a new subsea initiative’s steering group.
The newly launched National Subsea Research Initiative (NSRI) – steaming from a North Sea-focused body set up in 2008 – will facilitate the cooperation between sector suppliers and UK leading energy universities to drive development of subsea technologies allowing for increased recovery of hydrocarbons globally.
We spoke to John Mair, NSRI Steering Group leader and Subsea 7 technology development director, on how the renewed initiative will achieve its business plan goals better than its predecessor.
