Russian state-owned energy firm Gazprom has promoted its deputy petroleum director to the role of director general of its exports arm.
Elena Burmistrova is stepping up from the position of deputy director general for petroleum products, LNG and new gas markets of Gazprom Export, extending her 11-year long career with the gas giant’s subsidiary.
The appointment is a result of an increase in the division’s day-to-day business and its geographical expansion, as well as product diversification within its international activities, the company said in a statement.
“Gazprom’s geographical expansion and far-reaching plans in the foreign markets require new structural and functional decision-making,” said Alexey Miller, chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.
