Oil and gas body Industry Technology Facilitator (ITF) has appointed the group director for Lloyd’s Register (LR) Energy as its new chairman.
John Wishart will take over the helm of the technology organisation’s board on August 1, on a non-executive basis, to “provide guidance on the strategic direction of ITF.”
He will replace Max Rowe, managing director of Selkie Solutions, who is stepping down after being ITF’s chairman for the last seven years.
Wishart joined LR in 2012 to lead the transformation of its energy division, when the organisation shifted from an industrial and provident society to a company limited by shares.
He is bringing into ITF more than 30 years of experience in contracting, consulting and operator sectors, including former leadership roles with BP, Technip and GL Noble Denton.
“John’s wealth of knowledge will ensure that we continue to develop ITF as the global choice for facilitating collaborative technology innovation and deployment in oil and gas and related energy industries,” said Patrick O’Brien, chief executive of ITF.
“I am certain that John’s strong industry contacts and experience in developing diverse business portfolios with a range of stakeholders including government, national and international oil and service companies, will enable ITF to move forward and develop new relationships.”
