Energy consultancy Xodus Group has won a vibration engineering services contract with Qatargas worth $1million. It is the latest win for the firm, which has racked up a $20million windfall since opening its new office.
The one-year deal sets out development of a long‐term piping integrity management programme to assess, reduce or eliminate vibration in Qatargas onshore and offshore facilities, including the Ras Laffan refinery, one of the largest condensate refineries in the world.
Since the opening of its Dubai office in 2012, Xodus has secured more than $20million of integrated oil and gas services contracts in the Middle East.
It has also recently opened new offices in Abu Dhabi and Erbil, Kurdistan, and is in the process of setting up an operation in Qatar, due to launch later this year.
“Our specialist vibration expertise is ideally suited to some of the challenges facing operators in Qatar and across the region,” said Colin Manson, chief executive of Xodus Group.
“Eliminating vibration supports integrity management plans and can deliver significant asset cost savings.
“In partnership with Chiyoda Almana, we look forward to working with Qatargas to address integrity issues to assist production.”
