Exxon Mobil is reaping the rewards of starting production ahead of schedule at its new $19billion liquefied natural gas project in Papua New Guinea.
The plant, which was originally scheduled to come on line at the end of this year, is already operational and producing at full capacity.
The project has gotten off to a flying start as it prepares to load its 15th LNG cargo, according the firm.
This is the latest success in a line of recent wins for the firm, which has recorded increased output in the last few months.
The project, which is targeting an increased appetite for LNG in Asia, has a first stage capacity of 6.9 million metric tons of LNG per year.
Exxon Mobil has partnered with Oil Search and Santos for the Pacific endeavour, which hit the full capacity milestone within three months of start-up.
