Power generation firm Shanahan Engineering has won a “multi-million dollar” contract for the Yanbu project in Saudi Arabia.
The deal with Hanwha Engineering & Construction (HENC) covers commissioning services for the second phase of the power project in Yanbu Industrial City, 300km north of Jeddah.
The expansion and desalination project consists of three power generation units, with a combined output of 690MWs and a multiple-effect distillation (MED) desalination unit capable of producing 68,190 cubic metres per day.
“We are pleased to be awarded this contract by HENC, this project represents the start of a new and exciting business relationship with a large Korean Construction Business,” said James Greaney, chief executive of Shanahan Engineering.
“We are looking forward to developing a strong partnership with HENC, and delivering a value-add service to ensure this project is completed on time”.
