Energy services giant Schlumberger has won an integrated drilling services contract with Statoil worth 1.15billion Norwegian kroner ($184million).
The deal covers Statoil’s operations in the Norwegian continental shelf including Gullfaks, Gullfaks Satellites, Snorre, Statfjord, Tordis/Vigdis and Visund licences.
It will launch on September 1 for the initial period of two years, allowing three optional extensions, each for two years.
Schlumberger services under the agreement will include the delivery of directional drilling, measurement while drilling (MWD), logging while drilling (LWD) and mud logging services, as well as delivery of real time data transfer, integrated operations, onshore support, drilling optimization and drilling equipment.
“The contract secures supply of services and competent personnel, which ensures cost efficient operations through standardization and focus on the quality of tools and services,” said Geir Tungesvik, senior vice president, drilling and well in Statoil.
“It contributes to Statoil’s focus area of safe and efficient drilling.”
