Risk management consultancy DNV GL has won a frame agreement for Aker Solution’s global business.
The award focuses on cooperation between the two companies in joint activities such as front-end engineering design (FEED) and integrated engineering (IE) and aims to deliver “more efficient project execution and considerable cost savings” for the Norwegian engineering giant.
The agreement covers services and cooperation in subsea, umbilicals, engineering and maintenance, modifications and operations (MMO) in all the key oil and gas regions, including the UK, Norway, Brazil and Malaysia and can be extended to other regions, DNV GL said.
The deal will encompass advisory services, such as safety, environment, enterprise risk management, asset risk management, technology qualification, maritime advisory and corporate responsibility management, as well as verification and statutory services, system certification and software, Aker added.
“Finding smart solutions, innovating and streamlining the value chain is critical to address the cost issue in the industry,” said Elisabeth Tørstad, chief executive of DNV GL Oil & Gas.
“The contract provides a framework for technology cooperation that gives us the opportunity to work closely with one of the leading technology providers and developers in the industry.
“Our experts and global outreach will support Aker Solutions in achieving its international growth strategy and create unique and cost-effective technologies.
“So this agreement enables technical experts from both organisations to work closely together and learn from each other.”
