Offshore rentals firm Ferguson Group saw its £15million investment in the business translate into sales and profits last year.
The Kintore-based company, which specialises in containers and accommodation units, saw sales grow 12% to £65million and pre-tax profits increase 28% to £20.8million in 2013.
Richard Smith, group finance director, said: “2013 saw the company increase earnings whilst continuing to invest heavily in our operational capability and prime the company for continued expansion.
“We invested around £15million during 2013 and plan to spend significantly more in 2014.”
He said the firm’s new operations in north-west Australia were almost complete and would be open for business shortly.
During the year the firm strengthened its board with the appointment of David Mitchell as operations director and Julian Poyner as engineering director. The company now employs 220 people around the world, an increase of around 40% in the last two years.
“Revenues from outside Europe continue to be a significant part of our business and grew by 19% year on year to £31million,” said Mr Smith.
“Our growth strategy relies on the quality of our equipment and our people and we will continue to put resources into those regions where our customers are at their busiest and where they require access to our comprehensive and growing fleet of certified containers, tanks, baskets, accommodation and workspace modules.”
