The latest contract for the giant Quad 204 development west of Shetland has gone to oilfield services firm Expro.
The exact value of the seven-year deal with BP was not disclosed, but Aberdeen-based Expro said it was millions of pounds.
Expro will provide subsea technology for Quad 204, which involves the redevelopment of the BP-operated Schiehallion and Loyal fields and is targeting an estimated 450million barrels of oil.
Keith Palmer, Expro director for Europe and former Soviet republics, said: “Expro has provided subsea equipment and services to BP’s operations in the North Sea since the late 1990s, working across a range of challenging subsea environments.
“This new contract further strengthens our working relationship.
“It will also see Expro apply its newest vertical subsea technologies in the North Sea for the first time.”
BP and its partners in Quad 204 are building a new floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel to replace the existing Schiehallion installation.
The new FPSO and its subsea structures are to be installed in stages in advance of production planned for 2016.
BP announced in March last year that, alongside partners in the massive project, it had exceeded the £1billion mark for contracts awarded worldwide.
Schiehallion and Loyal have produced nearly 400million barrels of oil since start-up in 1998.
BP and its project partners announced their intention to go ahead with plans for redeveloping the fields, extending production to 2035 and possibly beyond, three years ago.
