Aker Wayfarer has won a five year contract worth $465million with Petrobas.
Aker Solutions’ subsidiary Aker Oilfield Services (AKOFS) landed the deal to provide subsea intervention services offshore Brazil.
In preparation for the work, the vessel will be transferred to a yard in Norway to be fitted as a deepwater subsea equipment support vessel (SESV).
It will maintain a fibre-rope deployment system, deck skidding systems and a subsea orientation equipment system, all allowing it to install and retrieve subsea trees and modules, including subsea structures and manifolds.
The contract will begin in the fourth quarter of 2016 and will include a five-year option extension.
