
Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company has begun gas production from its platform in offshore Malaysia.
Production from the Kebabangan (KBB) platform is expected to reach 500 million standard cubic feet per day by April 2015.
The KBB structure is an integrated facility designed and built as a gas hub and crude oil processing amenities.
It measures 18,000 metric tonnes and is 39 metres high, making it one of the largest offshore platforms built in Malaysia.
Hydrocarbons from it will be transported through a pipeline to the Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal located onshore Kimanis, Sabah.
The firm is a joint operating company with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (40%), ConocoPhillips Sabah Gas Ltd (30%) and Shell Energy Asia Limited (30%).
