Oil major BP has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to use the Valhall DP and PCP facilities beyond their lifetime.
BP wishes to use the DP facility as a wellhead platform until the wells are decommissioned, plugged and closed down.
The PCP production facility is no longer active and the PSA said BP wants to use it as a support for the bridges between DP and WP facilities.
The extension grant means BP has consent to use the facilities until December 2023.
According to the PSA, the consent has been given on certain preconditions relating to load analyses and manning criteria.
BP also made and application related to continued use of the QP facility which was denied by the PSA.
