Abilene Oil and Gas has confirmed the completion of a lucrative well in Kansas.
The company said Woelk #1-19 was drilled to a total depth of 3,303 feet and shows potential to be an economic oil producer.
The drilling phase indicates the potential for the well to be completed as an Arbuckle producer with possible secondary reserves in the Lansing and Kansas City Interval.
A spokesperson for the firm said: “The initial results are promising from an operational perspective and also from the technical results, with three of the four wells being completed as potential producers.”
The next stage will be to evaluate the initial results and decide on the forward program through 2015.
