SBM Offshore has reintroduced its chief operating officer position with the appointment of a former Technip president.
Philippe Barril has also been appointed as a member of the company’s management board.
Mr Barril served in a number of different roles with Technip including as executive vice president and as chief operating officer of both onshore and offshore.
He will be responsible for overseeing project execution, business acquisition and fleet operations.
Bruno Chabas, chief executive of SBM Offshore said: “I am excited that Philippe will be joining the SBM Offshore executive management team.
“He is an experienced veteran of our industry and brings a wealth of relevant operating experience to the Company, and I am confident that he will quickly become a valued member of our team.”
