Craig International Supplies (CIS), a division of Aberdeen-based energy service and shipping company Craig Group, said yesterday it had won new contracts worth £30million over five years.
The deals are with oil producer Chevron North Sea and un-named client described by CIS as “one of the world’s leading drilling contractors”.
CIS will supply both firms with “materials and the full range of procurement services” – such as consultancy, training, conferences, subscriptions, equipment and travel – for a period of three years, with two one-year extension options.
Chevron was already a client, so CIS’s success in securing the re-tendered contract extends an existing relationship between the two firms. The other deal is a new contract.
CIS joint managing director Steve McHardy said: “These are very significant, high-value contracts that CIS has been awarded, thanks to our offering of a complete procurement service.”
Craig Group chairman and managing director Douglas Craig added: “Securing these major contracts highlights CIS’s ability to be part of our customer’s business as we constantly look one step ahead, identifying solutions that will deliver the best results.”
With bases in Aberdeen, Houston, Calgary, Cape Town, Warsaw and Hamburg, and more than 70 staff, CIS saw its turnover rise from around £48million in 2013 to nearly £66million in 2014.
Family-owned Craig Group has three divisions; North Star Shipping and CIS are focused on delivering vital services and supplies to the offshore oil and gas industry, while Craig Group Leisure operates the Kings Links Golf Centre in Aberdeen.
Earlier this year, the 82-year-old group filed accounts showing pre-tax profits increased to £20.5million during the 12 months to April 30, 2014, from £17.3million in 2012/13, while turnover grew by more than £30million to £177.7million.
