Apache has begun oil production from the Coniston subsea oil field development offshore Western Australia.
The company’s partner INPEX provided the update on the Coniston field, which is being produced by an FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading vessel) which operates on the Van Gogh oil field.
The average production rate during the first year is expected to amount to about 18,000 barrels per day.
Coniston owns a 52% share in the field, while INPEX holds the remaining share.
