Atlas Knowledge has been awarded a contract by INPEX to provide training for production workers involved in the Ichthys LNG project.
The multi-million dollar agreement will see the company develop and deliver custom-made training modules and online 3D models of the project’s onshore and offshore production facilities.
The e-learning team will provide all personnel in the integrated operations team with an understanding of the plant, equipment, materials and their associated hazards. Facility-specific modules will take production technicians on an interactive journey to the process area they are assigned to.
The INPEX-operated project includes some of the world’s largest offshore facilities off the coast of Western Australia, massive onshore facilities in Darwin, Northern Territory and an 889km pipeline uniting them.
Robert Morgan, chairman of Atlas Knowledge, said: “This is a major project which has seen us work closely with INPEX over a significant period of time to design facility specific training modules to meet the demands expected of their workforce ahead of production starting on the Ichthys LNG Project.
“Selected from a highly competitive worldwide list of suppliers, this deal represents a new partnership between ourselves and INPEX who recognise as we do that exemplar training and a competent workforce is crucial to preparation and progress of large scale offshore projects.
“The training programmes we are designing will provide the learning and preparation needed for staff to work efficiently and safely from the start of production through the lifecycle of the field.”
Alongside customised e-learning programmes, Atlas will license modules from their technical library to INPEX to support staff learning and understanding of oil and gas industry fundamentals and processes.
The competency based training provided by Atlas Knowledge will be assessed to INPEX, industry and national standards and accessible to staff working across multiple locations simultaneously, allowing efficient learning and development progression across various job disciplines.
