Statoil has brought in IT specialists Rolta in to help identify operational efficiency improvements.
A company spokesperson said: “Rolta’s engagement is to initially carry out a project to provide key insights to help identify areas that offer potential for improvement, and then configure Rolta OneView(TM) for an enterprise implementation, for helping Statoil to achieve their operational excellence goals.”
Energy Voice previously reported on Statoil’s plans to cut 2,000 jobs from its payroll in a bid to hit financial cutback targets.
Despite the mass cull, all Aberdeen posts will remain intact.
The redundancies are in line with Statoil’s improvement programme and strict capital expenditure prioritisation plans. The cost savings strategy, which was announced two years ago, aims to make $1.7billion in annual savings.
Since the end of 2013 the company’s workforce has been reduced by 1340 permanent employees and 995 external consultants.
