US independent Whiting Petroleum has appointed Carin Knickel to its board.
Knickel was vice president of human resources for nine years at ConocoPhillip prior to her retirement in 2012. She has 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry beginning her career with Conoco in 1979 where she held senior roles in the US and Europe.
Whiting chief executive James Volker said: “Carin’s depth and breadth of experience in various board member, executive and operating roles in the oil and gas industry is a great addition to Whiting’s board.”
The company’s largest projects are in the Bakken and Three Forks plays in North Dakota, the Niobrara play in northeast Colorado and its Enhanced Oil Recovery field in Texas.
