SgurrEnergy has expanded their Canadian base to as it looks to reap rewards from the growing business opportunities in the region.
The company has moved into Montreal and Toronto following a recent expansion in San Francisco and California.
As a result two new appointments have also been made by SgurrEnergy to help lead the new bases in the country.
The addition by the Wood Group firm will build from the existing offices in Vancouver, British Columbia, Austin and Portland.
Director of North American business development, Gareth Brown, said: “We are delighted to be expanding into Toronto and Montreal and to be adding two talented individuals to our growing team,
enabling us to have a local presence in areas in which we already work extensively.
“These two new offices add another important footprint in our plans to support the burgeoning renewable energy market across North America.”
A new technical lead, Andrew Brunskill, has also been appointed and will be based in Toronto.
He brings a wide variety of expertise, with technical analysis and reports completed for over 100 wind and solar projects to date.
In the Montreal office Jean Sebastien Naud will take on the role of business development manager for Canada.
He joints the company after seven years working in a renewable energy consultancy as project manager and business development manager.
SgurrEnergy already works extensively in both Canada and the United States, supporting developer and investor activities across both solar and wind industries.
The team is currently managing a number of Galion Lidar deployments in Ontario for both pre-construction measurement campaigns and the optimisation of operational wind assets.
They are also acting as Independent Engineer for numerous wind farms under construction and financing in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritime Provinces.
