Two specialist decommissioning firms – one from the offshore and the other from the nuclear sector – are to work together to share each other’s expertise.
Upstream consultancy UniversalPegasus International (UPI), is to offer its oil and gas clients expertise developed in nuclear decommissioning by collaborating with its sister company Stoller Newport News Nuclear (SN3).
In return it aims to provide knowledge gained in oil and gas to the nuclear industry.
Gavin Stevenson, UPI’s UK managing director, said: “The industry is challenged to bring a fresh approach to decommissioning and reduce costs. We believe this partnership allows UPI to offer SN3’s extensive nuclear decommissioning expertise to the UK oil and gas decommissioning market with focus on the nuclear industry supply chain collaboration experience and project planning expertise.
SN3 provides a wide range of services to its clients in the nuclear industry.
UPI employs 1,000 experts and works with oil and gas majors, service companies and energy organisations.
Both companies are owned by Huntington Ingalls Industries.
