Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded an extension for its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract for the UZ750 project.
The agreement is for the Upper Zakum field 84 kilometres north-west of Abu Dhabi.
The Zakum Development Company (ZADCO) awarded the contract as it operated the field through a venture involving the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ExxonMobil and the Japan Oil Development Company.
The UZ750 project was launched in 2008 in a bid to redevelop the Upper Zakum field which is recognised as the second largest oil field in the Gulf.

Amec Foster Wheeler’s scope of work includes PMC services to be delivered as part of an integrated project management team.
ZADCO will oversee the contractors’ deliver of reimbursable engineering, procurement and construction scopes of work as well as decommissioning and start-up support facilities.
