MODEC said its Floating, Storage, Production and Offloading (FPSO) vessel Cidade de Itaguai MV26 has achieved first oil offshore Brazil.
The vessel is working in the Iracema Norte area of the Lula field in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin.
The production was achieved five months ahead of the planned schedule time from the vessel which is 240km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
The FPSO is capable of processing 150,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and has storage capacity for around 1,600,000 barrels of crude oil.
