Fire and security specialist Autronica will provide Statoil with equipment for its offshore operations in the Johan Sverdrup oil field in the North Sea.
The company’s Auto Safe fire and gas detection system will be deployed as part of the four-year framework agreement, one of the most significant in the brand’s history, said Autronica.
The agreement includes options for two plus two years and for supplying systems to the nearby Johan Castberg, Peregrino and Snorre fields.
Installation of the detection systems, which will be developed and manufactured by Autronica in Norway, will begin in early 2016.
“We are thrilled to play an important role in protecting Statoil’s operations in one of the North Sea’s largest oil fields,” said Frode Lund, managing director, Autronica.
