Amec Foster Wheeler has won a £36million contract for BP’s ETAP project.
Amec was awarded an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by BP for the provision of additional living quarters for the site.
Alan Johnstone, Amec Foster Wheeler’s managing director for Upstream Asset Solutions, said: “We are delighted to be supporting BP’s rejuvenation of ETAP as they continue to invest in the North Sea.
“We’ve been working with BP for more than 35 years, delivering safe and efficient solutions and this contract award is another example of Amec Foster Wheeler combining our leading brownfield and EPC expertise and bringing new ways of working into the oil and gas industry.”
BP North Sea president, Trevor Garlick, recently led a VIP trip to the site, which included Oil and Gas Authority’s chief executive and the UK Energy Minister.
ETAP, which is comprised of nine different reservoirs, is considered one of the largest and most commercially complex North Sea oil and gas developments.
BP’s cash injection will support new well delivery, including well work and stimulation.
The money will also support the additional living quarters under the AMEC deal, increasing personnel on site from 117 to 143.
The manpower uptake will increase the operator’s capacity to run concurrent campaigns.
ETAP is the second facility to benefit from BP’s North Sea Renewal Programme after Magnus.
