Technip has been awarded a contract from Shell Offshore for the development of subsea infrastructure for the Stones project in the Gulf of Mexico.
The company said included in the service are two subsea production tie-backs to the Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.
The Stones field is located in the Walker Ridge area in the US Gulf of Mexico at a water depth of 2,930metres along the pipelay route.
The contract includes the engineering of the require second pipeline end terminations, installation of the subsea production system inclusive of associated project management and engineering and stalk fabrication.
Technip’s operating centre in Houston will perform the overall project management and the flowlines will be welded at Technip’s spoolbase in Alabama.
The offshore installation is scheduled to be performed by the Deep Blue, the Group’s flagship vessel for deepwater pipelay.
Earlier this week Industri Energi delivered a boycott notice to Technip Singapore over “social dumping”.
The trade union said it would boycott Technip from October 23 because the company has yet to issue a collective agreement around wages and working standards.
